To create biochar requires a heat-driven reaction (typically occurring between 350°C and 700°C), carbon-containing biomass(referred to as the “feedstock”) undergoes transformation into various components. Importantly, pyrolysis occurs with very little oxygen, preventing combustion and ensuring that emissions are contained.
